- Direct messages ("DMs") and content you send to our Instagram Account.
- Data you submit or manage in our external Dashboard.
- Any associated websites, applications, or services that link to this Policy.
By using ami chat, you agree to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.
2. Age Verification & Eligibility
- Minimum Age: We require users to be at least 13 years old, in compliance with Instagram's minimum age requirements.
- Age Verification: During account setup in our Dashboard, we ask for your date of birth to confirm eligibility. Users under 13 are not permitted to use our services.

Direct Messages (DMs):
- We collect and store the text, links, and other content you send to @ami_chat via Instagram.
- We do not automatically collect your Instagram profile data (e.g., username, bio, followers) beyond what is included in the DM conversation.

- Currently, we process text, video links, and website links you share.
- We store only the extracted and synthesized notes from these attachments indefinitely, unless you delete them.

Metadata:
- We collect timestamps, message IDs, and any relevant metadata associated with your DMs for operational purposes (e.g., to retrieve your notes later).

Dashboard Data:
- When you create or manage your account in the external Dashboard, we collect the information you provide (e.g., email address, date of birth).
- We store your preferences and knowledge base entries (summaries, notes) on our servers in the United States.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Service Provision: We analyze your shared content to generate summaries and notes, which are then stored in your personal knowledge base.
- Account Management: We use your Dashboard information to authenticate you, maintain your account, and provide customer support.
- Notifications: We may use your email address to send important communications about policy updates or significant changes to our services.
- Compliance: We follow Instagram's API and Platform Policy when accessing your data.
No AI Training: Your DMs and user content are not used to train or improve our AI models. All AI processing is done solely to generate summaries or notes for your personal knowledge base.
5. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to enhance and operate ami chat:

Instagram's API:
- We comply with all relevant Facebook/Instagram Platform Policies for DM access.

Google Cloud & OpenAI:
- Your DM text and attachment data may be temporarily sent to these services for analysis (e.g., generating summaries).
- These third-party providers process your data to return summaries or insights to us.
- They do not use this data to train their general models, per our understanding and agreements.

6. Data Storage & Retention
- Location: All data is stored on servers located in the United States.
- Duration: We store your DMs, summaries, and knowledge base content indefinitely or until you delete them.
- Deletion Requests: You may request deletion of specific items or your entire account through our Dashboard or by emailing us (see Section 9: Your Rights).
7. Data Security
- Access Restrictions: Only authorized personnel with role-based access (primarily our admin) can view or manage user data. All access is logged for accountability.
- Encryption: Currently, DMs and knowledge base content are not encrypted at rest. Data in transit may be encrypted if the underlying platforms (Instagram, Google Cloud, OpenAI) provide secure connections (e.g., HTTPS).
- Safeguards: We employ administrative and technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. However, no security measure is 100% foolproof, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Compliance & Region-Specific Rights
- U.S. Focused: We currently cater to users within the United States.
- GDPR & Other Regions: If we become subject to the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or other regional data protection laws, we will designate a Data Protection Officer (DPO) and update this Policy accordingly.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: Request a copy or summary of your stored DMs, knowledge base entries, and other personal data.
- Delete Your Data: Request partial or full deletion of your data.
- Export Your Data: Obtain an export of your knowledge base content.
- Rectify Your Data: Update your information if it is incorrect or incomplete.
